Our Story
Smithery Style began in 2014 with a mission: to empower women by making shopping for their shape effortless and joyful. Founded by Mavis Huntley and Rena Rutkauskas, Smithery has been a trusted guide for women seeking clothes that truly fit and flatter, celebrating every unique shape and style along the way.
In 2025, longtime customer Shannon Gallagher stepped into the role of owner and chief “stylesmith”. As a busy mom of two girls, Shannon discovered the transformative power of Smithery’s shop your shape philosophy first hand on her first maternity leave.
Shannon was inspired by Mavis’s mission and saw an opportunity to carry it forward to a new chapter, so other new moms, and women who are like “WTF fashion?!” can find their tribe, and their dream wardrobe too.
Naturally, with a communications background she’s passionate about amplifying the brand and growing the community of women who follow and feel confident and empowered through this refreshing approach to shopping.
As part of this new chapter, Shannon has introduced the concept of capsule wardrobes - edited seasonal collections featuring the elevated basics every woman needs to to dress with ease and feel confident from the school drop off to the office to the (rare) date night. This approach is the perfect answer to the busy lifestyle of millennial women - making it easier to build a versatile, effortless wardrobe that makes getting dressed the easiest, most joyful part of the day.
